Dr. Kavya Hebbar is an accomplished legal academic, researcher, and educator with nearly 12 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and curriculum development. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University Law College and the Department of Studies in Law, Bangalore University. Her doctoral research, titled "Law and Access to Life-Saving Drugs in India: A Critical Study," was funded by the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

Dr. Hebbar completed her LL.M. in Business Law from JSS Law College, Mysore, and earned her B.A. LL.B. degree from Vivekananda Law College, Puttur. She has served in several prestigious institutions, including the University Law College and Department of Studies in Law, Bangalore University, KLE Law College, Al-Ameen College of Law, and Sarada Vilas Law College. She has taught a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate law courses, including Constitutional Law, Intellectual Property Law, Law of Contracts, Banking Law, International Law, Law and Medicine, Women and Law, Judicial Process, Research Methodology, Corporate Social Responsibility, Professional Ethics, and International Trade Law. Her student-centric teaching approach, combined with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and research, has made her a respected educator and mentor.

She has authored and co-authored many research papers published in reputed national and international journals and edited volumes. She has presented scholarly papers at several national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops, contributing significantly to academic discussions on contemporary legal issues such as human rights, public health, consumer protection, environmental law, federalism, and gender justice.

In addition to teaching and research, she has made significant contributions to academic administration. She has served as an internal and external examiner, valuator, programme coordinator, and resource person, while organizing academic events, faculty development programmes, and intellectual property awareness initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to institutional growth and academic excellence. Her work reflects a strong commitment to advancing legal scholarship, promoting access to justice, and preparing future legal professionals with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values essential for addressing contemporary legal and societal challenges.
